This Return and Refund Policy applies to purchases made from Paper & Objects through our online store.
Important Notice About Return Shipping Costs
For returns made under the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal, the customer is responsible for the direct cost of returning the goods.
However, if a product is defective, damaged, incorrectly supplied, incomplete or otherwise non-conforming, Paper & Objects will bear or reimburse the reasonable return shipping costs in accordance with applicable law.
1. 14-Day Statutory Right of Withdrawal
Consumers in Germany and other countries within the European Union or European Economic Area generally have the right to withdraw from an eligible online purchase within 14 days without giving a reason, subject to applicable legal exceptions.
For goods, the withdrawal period begins when you, or a third party designated by you other than the carrier, takes physical possession of the goods.
To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must notify us of your decision before the 14-day withdrawal period expires.

Your withdrawal notice must clearly state that you wish to withdraw from the purchase.
After notifying us of your withdrawal, you must return the goods without undue delay and no later than 14 days after the date on which you informed us of your decision to withdraw.
2. Return Address

Please do not send products back on a cash-on-delivery or postage-due basis unless we have expressly agreed to this in advance.
We recommend using a secure and trackable shipping service and retaining your shipping receipt and tracking information until the return and refund process has been completed.
3. Condition of Returned Goods
Customers may inspect and handle a product only to the extent reasonably necessary to determine its nature, characteristics and functioning.
Where reasonably possible, returned goods should include:
- The original product;
- Original accessories and components;
- Original packaging;
- Any manuals or documentation supplied with the product; and
- A receipt, order confirmation or other proof of purchase.
You may be responsible for any reduction in the value of the goods resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the product.
Such deductions will only be made where permitted by applicable consumer law.
4. Return Shipping Costs
Returns Under the 14-Day Right of Withdrawal
If you exercise your statutory 14-day right of withdrawal because you changed your mind or no longer wish to keep the product, you are responsible for the direct cost of returning the goods to us.
This may include:
- Return postage;
- Courier charges;
- Packaging costs; and
- Other direct costs associated with returning the goods.
Paper & Objects will only bear these costs where:
- We expressly agreed to pay them;
- Applicable mandatory law requires us to pay them; or
- The return is caused by an error or product issue for which we are responsible.
Defective, Damaged or Incorrect Products
You will not be required to pay reasonable return shipping costs where the return is caused by:
- A defective product;
- A product damaged before or during delivery;
- An incorrect product supplied by us;
- Missing parts or accessories; or
- Another confirmed error attributable to Paper & Objects.
In these circumstances, please contact us before returning the product.
We will provide appropriate return instructions and, where applicable, arrange a prepaid return method or reimburse reasonable return shipping costs.
5. Damaged, Defective or Incorrect Orders
Please inspect your order as soon as possible after delivery.
Contact us promptly if:
- The product arrives damaged;
- The product is defective;
- You received the wrong product;
- Parts or accessories are missing; or
- The parcel shows significant transportation damage.
Please provide:
- Your order number;
- A description of the issue;
- Photographs of the product;
- Photographs of the packaging where relevant; and
- Videos or other supporting evidence where reasonably necessary.
After reviewing the information, we will provide an appropriate remedy in accordance with applicable law.
Depending on the circumstances, this may include:
- Repair;
- Replacement;
- Delivery of missing components;
- Return; or
- Refund.
Your statutory rights regarding defective or non-conforming goods are not affected by the 14-day withdrawal rules.
6. Exceptions to the Right of Withdrawal
The statutory right of withdrawal may not apply to certain goods where an exception is permitted by applicable law.
These may include:
- Goods made to the customer's specifications or clearly personalized;
- Goods that are liable to deteriorate or expire rapidly;
- Sealed goods that are not suitable for return for health protection or hygiene reasons once the seal has been removed;
- Goods that become inseparably mixed with other items after delivery;
- Sealed audio, video or computer software after the seal has been removed; and
- Other goods or services excluded under applicable consumer protection legislation.
These exceptions do not limit your statutory rights if a product is defective, damaged, incorrectly supplied or otherwise non-conforming.
7. Refunds
When you validly exercise your statutory right of withdrawal, we will reimburse payments received from you in connection with the withdrawn purchase.
This includes the cost of the least expensive standard delivery method offered by us for the relevant order.
If you chose a more expensive delivery method, such as express, premium or expedited delivery, we are not required to reimburse the additional amount exceeding the cost of our least expensive standard delivery option.
Refund Time
Refunds will be processed without undue delay and no later than 14 days after we are informed of your decision to withdraw.
For purchases involving physical goods, we may withhold the refund until:
- We have received the returned goods; or
- You provide acceptable evidence that the goods have been sent back,
whichever occurs first.
Unless otherwise agreed, the refund will be issued using the same payment method used for the original transaction.
We do not charge an additional refund processing fee.
Please note that your bank, card issuer or payment provider may require additional time before the refunded amount appears in your account.
8. Refunds for Defective or Incorrect Products
Where a refund is approved because a product is defective, damaged, incorrect or otherwise non-conforming, the refund will be processed using the original payment method unless another method is agreed or required by law.
Once the refund has been approved, we will process it without undue delay.
Where applicable, reasonable return shipping costs caused by our error will also be reimbursed.

If you wish to receive a different product, model, size or variation, please contact us.
Depending on availability, we may ask you to return the original product and place a new order.
Direct exchanges are not guaranteed and may depend on product availability.
